Six concrete canoes float
\u2003\u2003\u2003on the water
Six concrete canoes rest
\u2003\u2003\u2003out on the grass
Four raced, were paddled boldly
\u2003\u2003\u2003four concrete canoes raced
Battled fiercely, but never victorious.<\/p>
Every last pound mixed and placed by hand
\u2003\u2003\u2003built by hand
Countless hours endless energy;
\u2003\u2003\u2003night after night, worked through the night
Covered in concrete, but building six canoes.<\/p>
Six concrete canoes float
\u2003\u2003\u2003in the water
Six concrete canoes rest
\u2003\u2003\u2003out on the grass
Two broken, one beautiful and bright, and colorful;
\u2003\u2003\u2003two demolished were unwanted
Two more concrete canoes remain;
\u2003\u2003\u2003but each new year, a new canoe
So these soon will be gone too;
