2020 brought, among other things, the completion of the 5 MLK building at the Burnside Bridgehead. While Multnomah County contemplates replacing the Burnside Bridge , 5 MLK offers a new approach to massing and façade articulation for Portland. Small terraces on each office level feature extensive landscaping, creating a micro-ecosystem on top of the building. The unique tower mass offers numerous opportunities for corner views in every direction. And the rooftop amenity space overlooks the river and the city. The completed project stands as the tallest building in Southeast Portland and brings further energy to the bridgehead area as it expands south to integrate with the Central Eastside Industrial District.
