The Red Electric Bridge opened in summer 2022 as the first constructed segment of the future Red Electric Trail. The trail is envisioned to eventually connect the South Waterfront and Willamette River in Portland to the Fanno Creek trail system in Washington County. The bridge curves across a ravine between Capitol Highway and Beaverton Hillsdale Highway as they diverge in Hillsdale. The trail follows the historic Red Electric railroad line that operated along Bertha Blvd. in the area. KPFF designed the bridge with GreenWorks for PBOT and PP&R.
This gallery presents views of the bridge across the seasons in its first year after opening.
