Orchestration: Cello Duet
Cello Duets are best played by exactly two cellists. While larger groups (Cello Quartets and Cello Ensembles) can also play arrangements designed for Cello Duet (doubling parts), that often results in stylistic issues. Also consider that cello ensemble music is typically most successful with at least four parts.
