One of the few solo pieces in this library, this arrangement of Amazing Grace for solo cello compiles elements from my arrangements for cello ensemble and for SATB with cello solo.

The first verse outlines the harmonic sequence through pizzicato chords interspersed with fragments of the melody. The next two verses provide arpeggiated sequences that loosely follow the melody, including a transition to C major. The next verse then explodes into the melody in C major, alternating across octaves. A slow, triumphant repetition closes the C major section with rolled chords inset with the melody. Finally, a return to G major closes with two verses in bowed double stops with melody and lower accompaniment.
