2020 Garden

Despite a growing season cut short by a late start to summer and September wildfire smoke, 2020 proved successful for an expanding garden. A new pathway planted with native species offered a variety of seasonal interests that will grow in over the next few years. Fruit trees planted three years ago are now becoming productive.

With several new selections, this year’s harvest included:

  • Two dozen zucchinis
  • Ten pints of span peas
  • Four dozen yellow onions of varied sizes
  • Several cloves of garlic
  • Half a dozen fennel bulbs
  • Several dozen jalapeno peppers
  • Seven dozen tomatoes, but about half of the usual harvest
  • Twelve pumpkins
  • Three butternut squashes
  • Plentiful lettuces
  • One dozen Asian pears
  • Three dozen apples
  • A few blueberries
  • Several pints of raspberries
  • Bountiful flowers
