This rhythmic arrangement of EASTER HYMN for cello trio is set in 7/8 time. The melody adapts to the irregular meter in a series of repetitions across three octaves, beginning on the C string. The other parts gradually build in various matching and cross-syncopated rhythms. Two repetitions in (different) three-part harmonies take inspiration from traditional choral settings of this well-known hymn.
