This arrangement of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen for cello trio features a driving tempo in rhythmic unison. Two distinctive three-part harmonizations bring variety and depth to an otherwise-simple setting. A contrasting middle section pairs a Lydian setting of the melody with an open-string textural vamp.
