HURSELY is an 18th century hymn tune most commonly associated with the text Sun of My Soul, Thou Savior Dear. This arrangement sets the hymn as an up-tempo minuet. The tempo is approximately three times that marked in The English Hymnal (1906).

Energetic verses in mixed trios alternate with a refrain in the original four-part harmony. The effect is best with cello quartets of one cellist per part. If playing with a larger group, take turns on the verses to highlight their trio forms, contrasting with the refrain.
