The Water is Wide is a traditional folk song known by a variety of lyrics (including settings as the tune O WALY WALY). This arrangement for cello choir originated as an unaccompanied choral arrangement and is transposed down a fourth in this edition. It works best with several cellists per part. All four parts are at an intermediate level, with some slightly more difficult sections in the cello 1 part.
