This Gregorian Chant is best known for its use in the hymn Veni Creator Spiritus. This arrangement sets the chant to a flowing and varied 7/8 time signature. It includes six statements, each played twice. They may be played either sequentially (1-1-2-2-3-3-4-4-5-5-6-6) or forward then reverse (1-2-3-4-5-6-6-5-4-3-2-1).

For best results, the entire ensemble should first learn the melody deeply (nearly to memory). This is printed in the fifth statement for parts 3 & 4 and the in the sixth statement for parts 1 & 2. Then, the musicians can effectively trade the melody in the first two statements and add the accompaniments to statements 2, 5, and 6. The third and fourth statements should be attempted last; once solid, they weave the chant into a mesmerizing series of syncopated scales.
