This collection of seven Mozart canons is arranged in flexible format for cello quartets. The canons can be played individually, as selections, or as a complete set. Each canon can be played from the cello 1 part, entering at the signs, and repeating on loop with ad-hoc endings. Alternatively, they can be read from the scores or the four parts provided with written rests, entrances, and endings.
The first six are four-voice canons in unison (or octaves) at variable intervals. The seventh is a double canon in fifths at the measure, which must be read from the written parts or the score. The following canons are included:
- K.556 “G’rechtelt’s enk” (G Major)
- K.553 “Alleluia” (C Major)
- K.554 “Ave Maria” (F Major)
- K.560 “O du eselhafter Martin” (F Major)
- K.562a (F Major)
- K.558 “Gehn wir im Prater” (Bb Major)
- K.515b (Double Canon) (F Major)
